God Knows Our Every Need An elderly lady was well-known for her faith and for her boldness in proclaiming it. She would stand on her front porch each morning upon awakening and shout at the top of lungs, "Praise God!" And each evening before bedtime she would again stand on her front porch and shout at the top of her lungs, "Praise God!" Next door to her lived an old atheist who was so angered at her continual proclamations he would stand on his front porch each morning and each evening shouting at the top of his lungs right after her, "There ain't no God!" Hard times set in on the elderly lady, and she prayed for God to send her some assistance. She stood on her porch one evening and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Praise God! Dear God, I need food! I am having a hard time of it! Please, God, send me some groceries!" That evening the old atheist next door just stood silently on his front porch. The next morning the elderly lady went out on her front porch, amazed at a large bag of groceries placed there, and shouted at the top of her lungs, "Praise God!" The old atheist standing on his front porch next door shouted back at the top of his lungs, "Aha! I told you there was no God! I bought those groceries ... God didn't!" The elderly lady started jumping up and down on her front porch, and clapping her hands, as she shouted even louder than ever before, "Praise God! He not only sent me groceries, but He made the devil pay for them!!!" |
